Conventions look easy; if it looks easy, then all of the artists present are doing something right. I can promise that conventions are far from easy. This intro might be misleading and give the impression that conventions aren’t fun. I promise they are. They are the most rewarding, crazy, hectic, amazing times I have as an artist every year.
Second time around, I want to say that I am older and wiser and had no kinks. Oh, darlings, that was far from true. I like to think that I carry myself with poise and mystique at all times. Convention is a stark reminder that I am not some effervescent being but a kinda quirky, loud, spooky girl who laughs when things are complicated.
Day 1 is always a lot of laughter. . . . A LOT of laughter. I am the luckiest creator to have a friend who supports me endlessly.
Needless to say, over the course of the three days, I ran out of prints. . . twice, and rearranged the display more times than I care to count. The love and support from all the wonderful humans who came to check out my artwork can’t be overstated. I am always moved and grateful for the experience and cannot wait for next year.
